Primary Ethics

Primary Ethics is a not-for-profit organisation established to provide the option of philosophical ethics education to children in public schools who do not attend special religious education classes. Our curriculum has been developed by leading academic Dr Sue Knight for students in Kindergarten through to Year 6 and approved as age-appropriate by the Department of Education. It can be reviewed on our website at

Primary Ethics aims to encourage students to inquire, together, into ethical issues that matter to them. This approach depends upon students’ willingness to ask questions of each other, to accept help from others and to modify their views in the light of others’ comments. In our introductory topics we help students develop sensitivity to others and confidence in their own thinking. These skills form the foundation of a fully functioning community of inquiry.

We need volunteers for the following roles:
• Ethics Teachers
• Ethics Coordinators
• Regional Managers
